Buses will replace Long Island Rail Road trains midday Wednesday and Thursday between Huntington and Port Jefferson because of scheduled track inspections, LIRR officials said.
Trains will not run between the two stations from 9:56 a.m. until 3:34 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9:56 a.m. until 2:37 p.m. Thursday.
Customers should anticipate up to 35 minutes of additional westbound travel time, and up to 26 minutes of additional eastbound travel time.
The outages are necessary as the LIRR inspects its tracks using a Sperry Rail Car, which detects defects in rails using ultrasonic and induction technology, officials said.
