Legis. Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) is hosting a forum Wednesday with Long Island Rail Road representatives regarding the Bellmore, Merrick, Freeport, Seaford and Wantagh train stations.

Two representatives from the LIRR are expected to discuss the stations, LIRR service, the LIRR’s response to past requests and answer questions from commuters. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Freeport Memorial Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd. in Freeport.

Although the LIRR is a state, and not a county authority, Denenberg said he provides these forums to address issues raised by commuters in his district. Denenberg represents Bellmore, North Bellmore, Merrick and parts of Freeport, North Merrick and Wantagh.

Some of the past issues raised have been problems with escalators, needed stations repairs and railroad parking permits, a Denenberg representative said.
