LIRR operating on limited schedule
The Long Island Rail Road restored limited service on some of its lines Tuesday, including Port Jefferson, Babylon and Ronkonkoma beginning around 4 a.m., the railroad announced on its website.
Those first trains including the 3:53 a.m. from Huntington to Penn Station and the 4:47 a.m. from Port Jefferson to Jamaica.
The Port Washington and Oyster Bay branches were also scheduled to begin service early Monday.
A problem emerged immediately: The 4:40 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn Station was operating 10 to 15 minutes late due to weather-related issues, the railroad reported.
The LIRR suspended all service Monday, citing safety concerns and track-clearing efforts
