A driver was killed after a commuter train slammed into his vehicle at a Mattituck grade crossing Tuesday afternoon, an MTA source said.

The Long Island Rail Road train was traveling from Greenport to Ronkonkoma, where it was due at 2:06 p.m., when it hit the vehicle at the Elijahs Lane crossing just after 1 p.m., said Salvatore Arena, spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Photos from the scene showed a pickup truck. The name of the driver and other details were not released.

Arena said none of the four passengers on board or the train’s crew were injured. He had no further information on the vehicle’s driver.

Two Ronkonkoma line trains were canceled, the railroad said.
