LIRR schedule changes: The highlights
Starting Monday, the Long Island Rail Road begins cutting back service to save money.
Some rush hour trains have been eliminated, weekend service will be harder to find, and additional stops will be added to several lines.
The cuts will impact about 14,000 riders. Here are the highlights.
Port Washington: Midday weekday service and all weekend service is reduced from every half-hour to every hour. On weekdays, 14 trains are being eliminated. On weekends, 32 trains are being eliminated.
Brooklyn: All overnight trains to and from Atlantic Terminal are being eliminated.
Long Beach: The 6:09 a.m. train to Atlantic Terminal has been canceled.
Ronkonkoma: The 4:34 p.m. train to Ronkonkoma from Atlantic Terminal is canceled.
Montauk: The 4:30 p.m. trains from Hunterspoint Avenue to Montauk will operate only on Fridays from May into October. TO FIND OUT WHAT'S
