Long Island Rail Road's westbound service between Penn Station and Jamaica has been restored after switch difficulties led to a service suspension Saturday morning, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said.

The closure was due to switch difficulties west of Woodside, according to a statement posted on the LIRR website.

Initially all service between the two stations was suspended, but some eastbound service has resumed as of about 12:30 p.m. Service was fully restored by 1 p.m.

In a notice posted online, officials said customers could expect some residual delays.
