It may not be a record, but don't tell the passengers traveling in the 2:51 p.m. train from Montauk to Jamaica on Friday. The LIRR train left the Montauk station 39 minutes behind schedule, at 3:30 p.m., due to a late-arriving train and eastbound traffic, the railroad said.

The 39-minute delay has now become 2 hours and 10 minutes. The train was due in Jamaica at 5:50 p.m., but now is expected to reach the station at around 8 o'clock.

Folks traveling eastbound to Montauk were faring a little better but not that much. The 4:06 p.m. from Hunterspoint Avenue is running 13 minutes late, according to the LIRR.
