City Comptroller John Liu is set to put the speculation behind his mayoral run to rest this weekend.
A representative for Liu's campaign said yesterday the Democrat will formally announce his run Sunday.
The 46-year-old former city councilman will be joining a long list of Democratic candidates, including City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who announced her bid last weekend, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio and former City Comptroller Bill Thompson.
Liu's campaign representative said more details about the announcement will be revealed later this week.
Former MTA chairman Joe Lhota will be running on the Republican ticket, along with Manhattan Media publisher Tom Allon and Gristedes CEO John Catsimatidis.
