Live from Glens Falls: Lutheran loses to Irvington
This one was never close.
Irvington, from Westchester County, utilized a press and a fastbreak offense to grab a 25-4 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 70-42 victory over Long Island Lutheran on Friday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
The Bulldogs (25-1) will play Saturday for the state Federation title. The Lady Crusaders finished at 20-4.

Guard Paige Kriftcher was a fine all-around game for Lutheran, scoring 15 points on 5 of 12 from the field and 5-for-5 from the foul line. She also made 3 steals. Center Jessica DeNicola used her 6-2 frame to advantage inside, scoring 9 points and taking down 6 rebounds. Samantha Millhaven also had 6 rebounds for Lutheran while Sarah Seger scored eight points.
Tara Gabelman had a huge game for Irvington. She shot 10-for-15 from the field in scoring 23 points and also grabbed 9 rebounds. Lisa Bucci, Riley Harrington and Alexis Martins scored 12 points each. Martins added 14 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Harrington and Marlye Giddins made 4 steals each as the Bulldogs' press did some early damage.
