Live from Glens Falls: Lutheran vs. Irvington in Class B

 
Third quarter

Lutheran went on a 6-0 run early in the period, cutting the margin to 42-24. Jessica DeNicola, the Lady Crusaders' imposing 6-2 center, scored inside baskets during the run and Paige Kriftcher added two free throws.

Kriftcher made a nice bounce pass to DeNicola for another layup that made it 50-26 halfway through the period.

DeNicola scored six points and Kriftcher had four in the period. Irvington continued to get uncontested shots and led 57-32 after three quarters.

Second quarter

Lutheran discovered its offense, only getting outscored 15-14 . Unfortunately, trimming one point off the first-quarter deficit didn't mean much. The Lady Crusaders trailed at halftime, 40-18.

Tara Gabelman led Irvington with 14 first-half points while Paige Kriftcher led Lutheran with nine. Samantha Millhaven grabbed five rebounds for the Lady Crusaders. Gabelman and Alexis Martins had four rebounds each for the Bulldogs.

First quarter

Good afternoon from Glens Falls, where there's snow on the ground, ice on the windshields and a winter chill in the air.

The Lutheran girls are pretty cold, too. They are having trouble with Irvington's pressure defense and fastbreak attack.

The Lady Crusaders managed only two baskets in the first quarter, by Christina Raiti and Paige Kriftcher, and trail the Bulldogs from Westchester, 25-4.

LuHi enters the game with a 20-3 record while Irvington is 24-1.
