Marissa Brucculeri went 3-for-3 in each game of NYIT's 6-1, 10-2 doubleheader sweep of Queens yesterday in softball. Brucculeri scored a run in the first game and had two RBIs in the second. Anna Hernandez went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for NYIT (22-21, 10-10 East Coast Conference) in the first game. Martha Redondo went 2-for-2 with two runs in Game 2. Queens is 13-26, 9-12.
BASEBALL
Adelphi 5, Southern Connecticut 1:Anthony Anzalone was 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI for Adelphi (27-12, 13-7) in Northeast-10.
Queens 3, Dominican 2:Warren Kelly singled, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a throwing error in the fourth inning to give Queens (15-24) a 3-0 lead in non-conference. David Fisher went 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and Brian Friedman pitched a complete game, allowing two runs (one earned), five hits and striking out eight.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Ramapo 13, Farmingdale State 12:Amanda Barretta scored her fifth goal with 36 seconds left to win it for Ramapo (9-5, 5-1 Skyline). Justine Rothar scored at 5:22 to tie it at 12 for Farmingdale State (6-6, 5-2). Emily Williams had four goals and two assists, Kathy Waite had three goals and four draw controls and Courtney Caden made 11 saves for the Rams.
