Local roundup: Ballot clarified, Sandy fishing trip
SUFFOLK COUNTY
Primary ballot candidates clarified
William Lindsay III will have a Working Families Party primary after all in his bid to succeed his father, Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer William Lindsay, who is term-limited and battling cancer.
A four-judge panel of the Appellate Division in Brooklyn restored Anthony Gralto of Sayville to the primary ballot in the 8th Legislative District, overturning a ruling last week by State Supreme Court Justice Carol McKenzie. She had thrown Gralto off the ballot because he listed the party’s name as the “Working Family Party,” not “Working Families Party.”
The judges ruled unanimously that those circulating and signing the petitions were members of the Working Families Party and would not be confused by an incorrect listing of the party name on the cover page.

A free fishing expedition will be held tomorrow for children impacted by superstorm Sandy.
The nonprofit Babylon Tuna Club is hosting a Youth Day “Morning of Fishing” for children ages 6 to 12 who were affected by the 2012 storm that caused massive damage to homes and businesses on the South Shore.
The expedition, which will take place aboard the Captain Eddie B III boat, will start at the Babylon Docks and last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fishing rods and bait will be provided, along with lunch, soda and snacks.
There is space for 85 on the boat. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 631-661-7200.
