West Elementary School in Long Beach will host a family oriented New Year’s Eve celebration Tuesday night. The “First Night Out” event will include a ball drop, live ice sculpture carving and live interactive entertainment, organizers said.

Ice sculpture carvings will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., organizers said.

The alcohol-free event, sponsored by a group of Long Beach civic organizations, is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. at the school, at 91 Maryland Ave.
