Nassau County police were searching Sunday for a person who struck twin sisters walking along Arrandale Road in Great Neck.

The 54-year-old women from Great Neck were walking north on Arrandale Road about 6:20 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle heading west drove into them and kept driving, police said.

Both were taken to a hospital -- one with nonlife-threatening injuries, the other was listed Thursday in critical condition with head trauma and internal injuries, police said. Authorities didn't have an update on their conditions yesterday.

Police didn't release any information on the car that struck them. Anyone with details is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

BAY SHORE

Woman's body identified

Suffolk police yesterday identified the female body found in a Bay Shore parking lot on Friday as Saundra Simonee of East Norwich.

An autopsy was still being performed, police said yesterday, so they could not say how she died. No arrests have been made.

Attempts to reach Simonee's family yesterday were unsuccessful.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
