Partnership for dental company

Henry Schein wants you to like your dentist. The Melville-based distributor of medical, veterinarian and dental products on Monday announced a partnership with the social media marketing company Likeable for an application allowing dentists to promote themselves on Facebook. The initiative, Likeable Dentists, helps practitioners keep their Facebook pages fresh by automatically changing their photos, posting articles and updating their status with tips about brushing, flossing and the like. The goal is to help dentists develop a following among patients, who in turn will recommend them to their online friends. -- Joe Ryan

NEW YORKSuit targets ex-Wal-Mart execs

A group of New York City pension funds is suing current and former Wal-Mart executives, saying they mishandled an alleged bribery scheme at the world's largest retailer. The group filed a lawsuit Monday in the Chancery Court of Delaware on behalf of the company itself against the executives. The goal in such cases, known as "derivative actions," is to change the way a company is run. As with other derivative actions, the plaintiffs are asking that any money they win be awarded to Wal-Mart. The funds own 5.6 million shares of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. This is the latest in a string of such lawsuits filed since The New York Times reported the bribery.

NATIONMore SUVs in Chrysler recall

Chrysler has added more than 137,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs to a March safety recall, bringing the number of vehicles affected to nearly 347,000. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the lower control arms in the rear suspensions of the Libertys can rust and break, possibly causing them to crash. However, the company says it knows of no crashes or injuries from the problem. Chrysler said Monday that it will inspect the parts and replace them for free if needed. The safety agency said Chrysler has added the 2006 and 2007 model years to the recall. In March, the company said it was recalling about 200,000 Libertys from the 2004 and 2005 model years for the same problem. Customers can call Chrysler at (800) 853-1403.

Internet ad revenue hits 1Q high

An advertising industry group says revenue from Internet advertising in the U.S. hit $8.4 billion in the first three months of the year. That's the highest for the first quarter, up 15 percent from $7.3 billion in the same period last year. The record for any quarter is $9 billion in the final three months of 2011. Record-setting numbers are a common occurrence, as more advertisers turn to websites and mobile apps, where they can target their pitches more precisely than traditional channels. The Interactive Advertising Bureau, which conducted the study with PricewaterhouseCoopers, did not break down the figures, but typically the bulk of the spending comes from text-based ads that are sold by Google Inc. and other companies. These ads are targeted to search terms and other keywords.

Sony: More Hasbro-toy films

The battering of "Battleship" at the box office hasn't scared Sony away from Hasbro toys. The studio is tripling down on its strategy of making movies based on playthings. On Monday, it announced it would make a movie called "Tonka" based on the 65-year-old Tonka truck line of toys. Sony is also developing movies based on Hasbro Inc. board games Risk and Candy Land. "Tonka" will be an animated movie coproduced by Sony Corp.'s Sony Pictures, Hasbro and Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. Universal Pictures' "Battleship," based on the Hasbro hunt-and-destroy board game, crashed on its U.S. debut May 18, coming second in a weekend dominated by "The Avengers" in its third weekend of release. -- AP
