Long Island feeling the deep freeze Friday

The afternoon sunshine has has given Long Islanders a brief respite from the near-zero conditions of Friday morning, but temperatures still remain below freezing -- and will for the foreseeable future.
The National Weather Service reports a high of 25 today with wind gusts between 20 and 35 miles per hour.
Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 12. Wind gusts of 15 to 20 miles per hour will again send the wind chill value to around zero.
On Saturday and Suny, expect more of the same. Temperatures are not expected to break 30.
