Long Island hires and promotions: Good Samaritan Hospital names executive chef

HEALTH

John Vaeth of Islip has been named executive chef in the Department of Food and Nutrition Services at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. He was executive chef at Thomson Reuters and, most recently, JPMorgan Chase global headquarters in Manhattan.

LAW

Sean J. Grygiel of Manhasset has joined Perkins Coie in Manhattan as a partner in the firm's intellectual property practice. He was previously a principal with Fish & Richardson in Manhattan.

NONPROFITS

Janet Koch of Commack has been named executive director of Life's WORC, which serves the disabled, in Garden City. She was the organization's chief financial officer.

ACCOUNTING

Mark L. Meinberg, partner-in-charge of EisnerAmper's private business services practice on Long Island, has been appointed to the Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Meinberg, a resident of Plainview, most recently worked at Feldman Meinberg in Syosset.
