NORTH MASSAPEQUA

Police arrest woman found

with stolen car, credit cards

Nassau police arrested a Westbury woman who is accused of driving a stolen car and carrying stolen credit cards in North Massapequa.

Police said they arrested Misty Wilson, 24, of Brooklyn Avenue, at 11:05 p.m. Saturday after she drove a stolen 1999 Nissan Altima south on North Broadway. Wilson, who was speeding at the time, was found with credit cards in the same name as the vehicle's owner, police said.

Wilson has not been accused of stealing the car, police said. She has been charged with four counts of criminal possession of stolen property and nine vehicle and traffic law violations, and was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.

The vehicle was stolen in Queens and has been returned to its owner, police said.

MASSAPEQUA

Cops: DWI driver wanted

in three other cases

Nassau police say a man they charged with driving drunk in a Massapequa accident was also wanted for other crimes - including the robbery and baseball bat beating of a teenager.

Seventh Squad Detectives said Sunday that James Carroll, 20, of 14 Ford Dr. South in Massapequa, was driving a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis Friday morning when he collided with another car around 4:30 a.m. in Massapequa.

The driver of the other vehicle, who was not identified, said he saw the man later identified as Carroll flee the scene of the accident on foot, police said.

Carroll was arrested shortly after the accident at his home on charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and other traffic violations.

Police said that, while processing Carroll, they discovered that he had arrest warrants on three other open cases in Nassau. They included charges of grand larceny, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and second-degree robbery.

Carroll is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
