BRIDGE CLOSING FOR TV SHOOT

The Bayville Bridge in Bayville will be closed Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a television shoot, according to a Nassau County Police spokesman. Newsday's Bill Bleyer tweeted this morning that NBC's "The Blacklist" will be filming, and residents are not happy about the bridge closure. FREE ICE CREAM

Your day is just about to get a whole lot better. Ben & Jerry's is giving away free ice cream from noon to 8 p.m. today to celebrate Free Cone Day. Every April 8 since 1979, the company's Scoop Shops have been packed with customers screaming for free ice cream to mark the anniversary of its first store opening. COMING UP

TOWN BOARD. The Brookhaven Town Board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. today at Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville. The board plans to hold a public hearing on a proposal to amend its policy for holding special elections to fill vacant offices. Follow Deon Hampton’s Twitter updates @deonjhampton. 

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS. The Huntington Town Board has scheduled a public hearing tonight to consider requiring carbon monoxide detectors in commercial buildings throughout the town. The 7 p.m. meeting is at Town Hall, 100 Main St. Check reporter Deborah Morris’ Twitter updates: @dsvmorris. 

PARKING PLANS. The Glen Cove City Council is scheduled to meet today at 7:30 p.m. to consider a change of parking hours and a utility contract for the ferry terminal, which is a major part of the city’s waterfront redevelopment plans. TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT
