LIRR TO OFFER SERVICE FOR WORLD MAKERS FAIRE

From Sept. 20-21, trains running on the Port Washington Branch will make stops at Mets-Willets Point Station to accommodate passengers attending the World Makers Faire at the New York Hall of Science.

Passengers traveling from eastern Long Island are advised to check their local station’s schedule for additional transfer information to the Port Washington branch.

Service will run between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

WANTED

Suffolk County police are looking for an unidentified man and woman who they said stole $200 in merchandise from the Rite Aid location on Larkfield Road in East Northport. 

The incident occurred Sept. 8 at around 8 p.m. Anyone with information can call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous. 

SUFFOLK COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY

WEST ISLIP: Water services will be shut down due to the emergency repair of a water main on Westminster Lane. Affected residences may experience water discoloration or low or no water pressure while repairs are taking place.

ISLIP: The Islip planning board will hold public hearings 7:30 p.m. Thursday, including one to consider an application from Central Islip-based Invagen Pharmaceuticals to relax parking requirements on two new industrial buildings.
