LANDMARK STATUS. The Hempstead Town Board held two public hearings granting landmark status for the former site of Eleanor Roosevelt’s childhood home in Westbury and the historic black cemetery in Wantagh. Read Aisha Al-Muslim’s Twitter updates below.

COMING UP 

SUBDIVISIONS HEARING. The Munsey Park planning board is holding a hearing today on a proposed subdivision at Manhasset Woods Road and Bellows Lane. The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be in Munsey Park Village Hall, 1777 Northern Blvd., Manhasset. Follow Scott Eidler’s Twitter updates @eidztowns. 

WATER QUALITY VOTE. The Glen Cove City Council is meeting tonight at 7:30 at City Hall to vote on a plan to monitor water quality at Crescent Beach. The meeting will be held at City Hall at 9 Glen St.

TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

BAY SHORE: There's an accident on Fifth Avenue at Pine Aire Drive.

BAY SHORE: The left lane is closed for construction on Sunrise Highway westbound between Heckscher State Parkway and Brentwood Road.

LIRR. The Long Island Rail Road is operating on time or close to schedule. The LIRR also said that this weekend, buses replace trains between Mineola and Oyster Bay from 12:40 a.m. Saturday through 3:30 a.m. Monday.

WEATHER

Today will be overcast with rain in the afternoon and a high of 52 degrees. The low tonight will be 45 degrees with a 60 percent chance of rain and wind gusts up to 30 mph. Tomorrow is expected to be wet as well.
