TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT
LIRR. A broken rail east of Farmingdale limited train service for more than four hours Tuesday between Ronkonkoma and Farmingdale. The LIRR called in buses to replace trains between Farmingdale and Brentwood after the rail broke just before 9 a.m. It was fixed at 1:10 p.m., according to the LIRR. Service was immediately restored.
