A high rip current risk is in effect for Long Island ocean beaches through Tuesday night, the National Weather Service said.

FINANCING HEARING. The Long Beach City Council will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1 W. Chester St., to hold a public hearing on authorizing $8.2 million in bonds.
