AUTOMOTIVE
Melissa Jurgensen, of Commack, has joined GrooveCar in Hauppauge as director of marketing. She was marketing coordinator for Gettry Marcus Stern & Lehrer in Woodbury. GrooveCar provides automotive financial services and products for credit unions and its members. 

BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Nicholas J. Rosato Jr., of Garden City, was named to the board of directors at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. He is managing director in equity research product management at JPMorgan Securities. 

EDUCATION
Dave Marcus of Manhasset has been named director of media and public relations at New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury. He was a reporter at Newsday. 

FINANCE
Norma A. Amodeo has become a partner in the Hauppauge accounting firm, Amodeo & Amodeo. The Hauppauge resident was promoted from accountant. 

GOVERNMENT
The U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton named four directors to its photon sciences directorate. The group will manage the National Synchrotron Light Source and the National Synchrotron Light Source II. The new directors are Ferdinand Willeke of Shoreham, accelerator division; Qun Shen of Setauket, photon division; Martin Fuller of East Moriches, facilities division, and Diane Hatton, of Southampton resident, business division. 

HEALTH CARE
Annemarie Doodian has joined Assisted Living at Home and New York Nursing Care in Hicksville as associate partner and vice president. The Huntington resident was director of service excellence, patient advocacy, stroke designation and nursing initiatives at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage. 

Randi Pincus, of East Meadow, has joined Integrated Medical Professionals in Melville as marketing manager. She was director of marketing at Lehneis Orthotics and Prosthetics Associates in Roslyn.

Dr. Jacob Sokol has been promoted to hospitalist director at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. The East Setauket resident was a hospitalist at Mather since 2007.  

LAW
Deborah J. Piazza has been named partner at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger in Lake Success as part of its recent expansion into bankruptcy law. The Lakeville Estates resident was a partner at Hodgson Russ in Manhattan. 

Michael Alber has joined the personal injury and criminal defense law firm DerGarabedian, Dillon, Grizopoulos, Nathan & Coluccio in Rockville Centre as an associate. The Dix Hills resident was a Nassau County assistant district attorney.  

William J. Tinsley Jr. has joined Goldberg & Connolly in Rockville Centre as partner in its construction and commercial litigation practice groups. The Rockville Centre resident was a partner at Sills Cummis & Gross in Newark.
