The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Nassau and Suffolk counties, calling for a chance of severe storms and rain until 8:00 p.m.

Long Island may also be pelted with hail and damaging winds, according to the Service.The chance of rain is 70 percent Thursday afternoon, dropping to 60 percent for Thursday night.

Friday is forecast to start off cloudy before turning partly sunny in the afternoon, with highs in the lower 80s.

The weekend isn't looking great, with a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and rain on Sunday.
