LONG BEACH POTHOLE PRANK
Speaking of April Fools' Day, one group in Long Beach pulled off a prank earlier Tuesday, claiming that residents were planting flowers inside potholes in the street for Beautify a Pothole Day. Scroll down -- or use the link below if you're a mobile user -- to see more.

COMING UP
CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS. North Hempstead officials are expected to consider requiring carbon monoxide detectors in places of public assembly. The 7:30 p.m. hearing Tuesday is in North Hempstead Town Hall, 220 Plandome Rd. Check Scott Eidler’s Twitter updates @EidzTowns.
VILLAGE BOARD. The Brightwaters Village Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Village Hall, 40 Seneca Dr., and is expected to discuss the upcoming budget process. Check reporter Sophia Chang’s Twitter updates @schangnewsday.
RATNER TALKS COLISEUM DEVELOPMENT. Real estate developer Bruce Ratner spoke at a Long Island Association breakfast Tuesday morning about the development of Nassau Coliseum and other issues. In September, the Nassau Legislature voted unanimously to approve a $229 million bid by Ratner's company, Forest City Ratner, to renovate the 41-year-old sports and entertainment venue in Uniondale. FATAL CRASH IN ROSLYN HEIGHTS. Roslyn Road in Roslyn Heights has been closed in both directions between East Williston Avenue and IU Willets Road for most of the day as Nassau County police investigate a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a passenger bus. Northbound traffic was being stopped from Jericho Turnpike and southbound traffic from the Northern State Parkway. Full story here.
WEATHER. The weather forecast for Tuesday is certainly better than the weather Monday, when parts of Long Island were hit with 4 inches of snow. It's sunny Tuesday, with a high of about 50 degrees and is expected to drop to a low of 37 degrees.
