Long Island Volunteer Center needs help
The Long Island Volunteer Center needs you!
Pummeled by demands from residents still struggling to recover from superstorm Sandy, the center is urging Long Islanders to make giving back a resolution in 2013.
No special skills are needed and training will be provided for those over the age of 18 who are interested in making a difference, according to the center.
“Your fellow Long Islanders need your help cleaning debris from homes, conducting needs assessments and working at supply and donation distribution centers,” according to a statement released by the center last week.
For information on getting involved, contact the center at www.longislandvolunteercenter.org or call 516-564-5482.
