Loop Parkway reopens, construction complete ahead of schedule
The City of Long Beach website has reported that the Loop Parkway was open as of 5:55 a.m. Tuesday.
The parkway was closed Friday at 10 a.m. so that the state Department of Transportation could make repairs to the drawbridge that connects the road across the Bay of Fundy.
Town officials were expecting the parkway to be reopened at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
DOT officials attributed the work being done ahead of schedule to efficient preparatory work last spring and the fact that the weather was conducive to the work this weekend.
