One ticket sold on Long Island got a little taste of Saturday’s $487 million Powerball grand prize, the New York Lottery said.
One of 13 Powerball tickets statewide worth $50,000 apiece was sold at the Tudor Buy Rite Wine & Liquors at 794 Elmont Rd. in Elmont, the lottery said Monday.
Each of the 13 “third-place” tickets matched four of the five numbers and the Powerball, the lottery said.
Nationwide, there were 14 “second-place” tickets matching all five numbers but missing the Powerball; those tickets were worth $1 million each, and none was sold in New York, according to the lottery.
One ticket sold in New Hampshire matched all five numbers — 11, 17, 21, 23 and 32 — and the Powerball of 5 to claim the fifth-largest jackpot in game’s history.
