Powerball Lottery jackpot: Didn't win? You get another chance with Monday drawing
Not a billionaire after last night's Powerball drawing? You've got company.
With odds at 1 in 292,201,338 per play, hitting the Powerball jackpot — now at $1.1 billion — is a lot tougher than getting struck by lightning.
The winning numbers were 3, 18, 22, 27, and 33, with a Powerball of 17. The Power Play was 3x, according to the lottery website.
It's the fifth highest in the game's history, with no one matching all six numbers since May 31, according to news reports. The next drawing is Monday, according to the state lottery website.
But even without hitting all six numbers, there could be money to claim.
Matching five of the numbers to the "white balls" from Saturday night's drawing could mean a $2 million prize. The odds there are much better at 1 in 11,688,053, according to the website.
Hitting four numbers on the white balls plus the number on the red ball holds a $150,000, with odds being 1 in 913,129.
Four white balls, odds at 1 in 36,525, or three white balls plus the red ball, with odds of 1 in 14,494.11, wins you $300.
As points of comparison on other legal betting, the odds on New York's football teams' winning Super Bowl LX in February are considerably shorter. Both the Giants and the Jets are listed at 200-1 to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy, according to ESPN.
New York's other team, the Buffalo Bills, are at 7-1, just behind the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles, to win the Super Bow, ESPN reported.
And Sovereignty, the 3-year-old colt who won the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes this spring, was the 1-4 favorite to win the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Aug. 23. He won by 10 lengths and paid $2.60 for a two-dollar bet, the New York Racing Association reported.
