The Mega Millions jackpot reached $353 million Wednesday after no one won Tuesday night's drawing.
The jackpot is the fifth highest in Mega Millions history, according to lottery officials.
The record for the largest U.S. lottery jackpot is the $656 million Mega prize shared on March 30, 2012, by winners in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland.
A $1 ticket holder has one chance in 259 million of hitting the jackpot.
The latest Mega jackpot has been rolling since Jan. 3, according to Mega Millions.
The next drawing is 11 p.m. Friday.
If someone wins the current jackpot of $353 million, they can opt for a $194 million cash payout. Either way, the prize is subject to income taxes.
