Long Island Lutheran is coming off a Federation Class B title and is loaded with talent.
Nine players and four starters return, including senior guard Christina Raiti and senior forward Paige Kriftcher. Junior forwards Stacie Barrett, Sade Gibbons and Cansu Atali have been contributing, as well, for the Crusaders. Freshman Lauren "Boogie" Brozoski is an absolute showstopper running the point with her unparalleled speed and willingness to take contact on both ends of the court. LuHi has games with two of the Island's top teams, St. Anthony's (Jan. 29) and Sachem East (Feb. 2).
Tamara Simpson's transfer from North Babylon to Portledge strengthens the two-time defending IPPSAL champions. Ceci Mulry, Alexa Lodenquai and Kristie Kelly are three returning starters for the Panthers.
Waldorf is coming off a second place finish in IPPSAL with senior point guard Victoria Jones and junior center Isabella Fraim as returning starters. Sophomore Ajanai Miller-Randolph has been a big contributor on offense of late and is expected to help on the defensive end, as well.
Lawrence Woodmere Academy hopes to return to the playoffs for a seventh straight season and has two returning starters in senior captains Melody Pierre Gillies and La'Ker Kwamogi.
Sydney Zambrotta will be an absolute force for Upper Room, she already scored 45 of her team's 47 points in a loss to Solomon Schechter.
Our Savior New American is a young squad with juniors Valarie Winter and Khadijah Lopez expected to help lead the way.
