'Mac Daddy' may have died from overdose: Reports
Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly of 1990s rap duo Kris Kross has died of a an apparent drug overdose, according to reports. Kelly, 34, was pronounced dead after family found him unconscious in his Atlanta home on Wednesday.
"Based on the information at the scene, we are concluding that it was a drug overdose," said Kay Lester, spokeswoman for the Fulton County Police Department.
Donna Kelly Pratt, Kelly's mother, told investigators Kelly took a mixture of cocaine and heroin the night before. Pratt drove Kelly home to "recover from his drug use," Lester told MTV.com.
Officials attempted to revive Kelly after he passed out at around 3 p.m., before pronouncing him dead at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
