Madalyn Murphy, Harborfield's High School Scholar Artist

Madalyn Murphy is a dancer and an active member of the Harborfields High School community. An A.P. student with a GPA of over 100, she holds membership in the National Honor Society, Italian Honor Society, Art Club, and Habitat for Humanity. Her artistic and academic successes have yielded Harborfields’ Fine Art Award, and Foreign Language Award in years past.

Madalyn trains six days a week in classical ballet under the artistic direction of staff from the Lynch Ballet Company. She has also worked with notable choreographers Emery LeCrone, Alexander Dutko, and Anthony Jones. Past performances with the Lynch Ballet Company include roles in full-length productions of Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, and Don Quixote.  She has danced soloist and demi-soloist roles in the annual performance of The Nutcracker (as Harlequin, Arabian, Mouse Queen, and Snow Queen), and in Swan Lake (as Swan Corps, Mazurka, and Spanish).

Madalyn has served over 350 hours at Huntington Hospital as a Junior Volunteer and Junior Council Member. She plans to be a Pre-Med major when she attends college in the fall of 2014.
