A helicopter believed to be carrying Nicolás Maduro has landed near the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he is expected to be held, according to The New York Times.

The facility has held many high-profile federal prisoners, including alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione, media mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs and former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández.

Maduro was processed and his mugshot taken at a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration field office in Manhattan, according to multiple reports.

Maduro will appear in federal court as soon as Sunday evening to face the United States' charges, according to CBS News.
