Mamaroneck holds three-day film festival to mark annual MLK celebration
The Mamaroneck-Larchmont Human Rights Committee is holding a three-day film festival as part of its 26th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
From Jan. 12 through Jan. 14, free films will be shown followed by panel discussions.
At 4 p.m. Jan. 12, the film, "The New Metropolis," which studies white flight from a community will be shown, and a panel moderated by Iona mass communications professor Mike Witsch will be held at Mamaroneck Public Library, 136 Prospect Ave.
At 4 p.m. Jan. 13, the film, "A Class Divided," which looks at segregation and fear, will be shown, followed by a panel discussion with speakers such as Town Councilwoman Jaine Elkind Eney at Larchmont Village Center, 121 Larchmont Ave.
Finally, at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14, the film, "We Will Stand," which looks at voting rights, will be featured, and a panel that includes speakers such as civil rights author Mary Stanton will be held in Conference Room C at the Town of Mamaroneck Town Center, 740 W. Boston Post.
