A Hicksville man who was irate because his home has no electricity in the aftermath of Irene was arrested Wednesday afternoon after threatening the Long Island Power Authority in a phone call to a county agency, police said.

Walter Murphy, 46, of Terrell Lane, was arrested at his home at 3:05 p.m. and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment.

Nassau County police said Murphy called the Nassau County Department of Emergency Management and made threats against LIPA.

"The defendant was irate due to his home having no electricity," police said in a statement released Thursday.

The exact nature of those threats was not immediately clear. Murphy was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
