Port Jeff Station man critical after crashing into tree, cops say

A Port Jefferson Station man was in critical condition after police said the sport-utility vehicle he was driving left the road in Holtsville and struck a tree Tuesday morning.
Dennis Kennedy, 69, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound on Blue Point Road, east of Waverly Avenue, when Suffolk County police said he suffered a medical emergency at about 11:45 a.m.
The Holtsville Fire Department took Kennedy to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was listed in critical condition.
