This might become a new tradition on the blog - we're giving props to the managers. Those folks on the sidelines at games working the book, tallying all the stats, providing kernels of information, making conversation, spotting stuff that we didn't see and dealing with the, "Uhh, who had the assist on that one?" questions. (We're in our mid-20s now, so you know we've got the old-people eyes.) So your help is always greatly appreciated.

Today, as promised, we give kudos to Ward Melville's Corinne Geiger. She was very pleasant and helpful at yesterday's game against Bay Shore, and did a good job with the book. (Laura thanks you.) Corinne's older sister, Kim, had two goals and two assists in Ward Melville's 10-8 win.

Corinne, a junior, is sitting out the season with a second torn ACL but plans to play next year. Best wishes for a healthy recovery, and good luck during field hockey season.

Note for managers: If you see us on the sideline at a game, feel free to say, "Hi, Reporter. I can haz shout-out?" (Bonus points if you actually say it like that.)
