The Manhasset Public Library is seeking  candidates for a seat on the board of trustees that will become vacant in August due to the resignation of a board member.

Interested candidates must be residents of the Manhasset school district and should have experience in community services or library involvement, Program and community relations director Debbie Dellis-Quinn said.

Trustee Joseph Vogel , who was appointed last year to replace Frank Hone who moved to Port Washington, will leave his board position in August to pursue a graduate education, according to a statement.

A new trustee to fill the remainder of Vogel’s term will be appointed at the beginning of August.

The election for the full five-year term will be held in April, according to Dellis-Quinn.

The library has 20 full-time employees, plus several part-time workers, and an operating budget of $3,431,594. Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to library board president Heidi McNamara, Manhasset Public Library, 30 Onderdonk Ave., Manhasset, NY11030.
