Parking scofflaws in the Village of Manorhaven are getting a temporary break.

The Village Justice Court is offering an amnesty program until June 3 for people to pay outstanding parking violations at a 40 percent discount.

“There’s a significant number of tickets that remain unpaid,” said Village Clerk-Treasurer Jonathan P. Fielding.

Anyone with parking violations issued between Jan. 1, 2005 and Feb. 28, 2011 can get the discount on the total cost of the bill, which includes the parking fine and late fees, he said.

Fines are doubled after 30 days and tripled after 90 days.
