Marc Gasol leads Grizzlies over 76ers
Isaiah Thomas (22 points, seven assists) made a tiebreaking floater with a second to play as the Sacramento Kings broke a four-game losing streak by beating the Wizards, 96-94, last night in Washington.
"I seen a guy that was guarding me that hasn't played the whole game,'' Thomas said of Garrett Temple, who had played for 13 seconds, "so I felt I had the opportunity to take him. And he kind of forced me to my strong hand, so I just wanted to make a play and it happened to go in."
Emeka Okafor had 23 points and 15 rebounds and John Wall had 19 points and six assists for the Wizards.
Nuggets 102, Pacers 101: Andre Iguodala made a tiebreaking free throw with four-tenths of a second remaining before intentionally missing his second attempt for host Denver. Iguodala finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and stole the ball from Paul George to set up the winning free throw. Danilo Gallinari had 27 points for the Nuggets. George had 23 points, Lance Stephenson 20 and David West 17 for the Pacers.
Rockets 125, Jazz 80: James Harden scored 25 points and Omer Asik had 19 rebounds as Houston handed Utah its worst home loss in franchise history. The Jazz, which had won six straight at home, was outscored 26-2 in fast-break points.
Grizzlies 103, 76ers 100: Marc Gasol scored 27 points, Rudy Gay 26 and Jerryd Bayless 21 for visiting Memphis, which rallied from 17 down to take control late in the fourth. Gay scored the winning basket off his own rebound with 13.3 seconds left. The Grizzlies won without point guard Mike Conley, who sat out with a sprained left ankle. Evan Turner scored 27 points for Philadelphia.
Warriors 114, Raptors 102: David Lee had 21 points and 12 rebounds and Stephen Curry scored 17 points before twisting his right ankle in the third quarter. Aaron Gray had 22 points and 10 rebounds for host Toronto.
Bulls 93, Bobcats 85: Jimmy Butler scored 19 points and Nate Robinson added 15 for host Chicago. Luol Deng returned to the Bulls' lineup after missing five games with a hamstring injury and had 12 points in 31 minutes.
Obama honors Heat
President Barack Obama honored the Miami Heat for winning the 2012 NBA title after falling short just a year earlier. "Everybody doing their part is what finally put the Heat over the top," Obama said as he welcomed the team to the White House to celebrate its victory.
The Heat defeated the Thunder in five games in the NBA Finals last June.
