Melville-based Marchon, one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of eyewear and sunglasses, has leased 76,000 square feet of space at 201 Old Country Rd. in Melville for a new corporate headquarters, according to Ray Finkelstein, a principal of Jericho-based United Realty, who represented Marchon in the deal.

Marchon will keep a facility at 35 Hub Dr. in Melville, which it has been using as a headquarters.

That building will become a warehouse.

Marchon, whose brand names include Calvin Klein, Coach and Diane von Furstenberg, employs about 2,300 people worldwide, including about 500 on Long Island.

Luxottica, another player in Long Island's eyewear business, maintains a presence in Port Washington, where it has wholesale headquarters. But Luxottica has closed its warehouse operations and moved them to Atlanta, leaving it with about 200 employees here.
