BACKGROUND: Massell, 62, of Hicksville, is running on the Independence Party line in the primary. He has been a District Court judge since 2002. Massell had a private law practice in Mineola for 22 years in which he worked on many areas of law. He was deputy town attorney from 1982 to 1983 for the Town of Oyster Bay. Massell got his bachelor's degree in 1973 from C.W. Post College, now known as LIU Post, and his law degree in 1976 from The Delaware Law School, now known as Widener University School of Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1979. Massell is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Nassau County District Judges Association and the New York State District Court Judges Association.
