Massapequa Park is an incorporated village in the Town of Oyster Bay on the South Shore of Long Island in Nassau County. The village has a population of 17,008, according to the 2010 U.S. Census. (July 21, 2012) Credit: Brittany Wait

More than $200,000 in state funding has been approved for a road improvement project in Massapequa Park.

State Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick) said he secured the money to allow the village to reconstruct Philadelphia Avenue between Pittsburg Avenue and Cypress Street.

The project will include a new road base, asphalt paving, drainage improvements, concrete sidewalks, aprons, handicapped ramps and curbs.
