Matt Flynn to be Packers'4th starting QB

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will miss his third consecutive game and Matt Flynn will become the Green Bay Packers' fourth starting quarterback of the season today when the Packers play the Lions in Detroit.

Rodgers, who suffered a fractured left collarbone Nov. 4, practiced on Tuesday but was ruled out by coach Mike McCarthy. The Packers have gone 0-3-1 without him.

After starting Seneca Wallace in the team's first game without Rodgers and third-stringer Scott Tolzien for the next two games after Wallace landed on injured reserve with a groin injury, McCarthy will turn to Flynn, who rallied the team to a 26-26 tie against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.

Flynn brought the Packers back from a 23-7 fourth-quarter deficit against the Vikings, completing 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown.

Humble Mincey returns

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Jeremy Mincey rejoined teammates yesterday, four days after he was left home and fined for being late to a meeting. Mincey said he spread himself "too thin" between football, his 3-month-old daughter and his recording business.

"I was just negligent as a football player and as a role model on this team," Mincey said. "I just need to bounce back and do everything the right way."

Legal woes for Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are struggling both on and off the field. Middle linebacker Erin Henderson became the latest to find trouble, when news of his drunken-driving arrest surfaced. Wide receiver Jerome Simpson was jailed Nov. 9 and later charged with two counts of DWI. Cornerback A.J. Jefferson was released Monday hours after he was arrested following a fight with his girlfriend. Jefferson was charged yesterday with one count of felony domestic assault by strangulation.

Around the league

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden went through a light practice yesterday and will play against Dallas today. McFadden has not played since straining a hamstring early in the first half against Philadelphia on Nov. 3. -- AP
