1 Priscilla sail

WHEN | WHERE 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Long Island Maritime Museum, 86 West Ave., West Sayville

INFO 631-494-9888, sailpriscilla.org

ADMISSION $25 ($15 ages 12 and younger) It's not very often you get to take a sail on a ship more than 120 years old. Priscilla, the Long Island Maritime Museum's restored oyster sloop, is back for its second season, ferrying passengers on leisurely two-hour cruises on the Great South Bay. These are the same waters Priscilla and other crafts spent years dredging for oysters as far back as 1888.

When the wind is right, passengers will get a full sailing experience aboard the 60-foot vessel, which has been painstakingly restored and designated a National Historic Landmark. No manual labor necessary -- the ship's crew does all the heavy lifting.

After your sail, consider wandering the museum, which details Long Island's maritime history through exhibits on shipwrecks, model vessels and a book room -- outbuildings include a boat shop and restored bayman's cottage.
