McCann wins Silver Slugger Award
Yankees catcher Brian McCann won the AL Silver Slugger Award on Thursday, the sixth of his career and first since 2011.
McCann led AL catchers in home runs (26) and RBIs (94). Although his .232 batting average was 36 points below his career mark, his home run total was a career-high, and he tied his career-best in RBIs, originally set in 2009 with the Braves.
