I strongly disagree with Michael O. Leavitt's piece, "Look to drug plan for Medicare model" [Opinion, May 23]. I am covered by Medicare A and B and have supplemental insurance. I am very happy with this coverage and find it simple and straightforward. But Plan D is a nightmare!

I am computer literate but find comparing plans very complicated. I take many prescription drugs and use generic and mail-order to save money. Five months into the year, I will be in the doughnut hole with my next prescription refill. The drug and insurance companies are making money on the backs of seniors. The only reason Plan D saves the government money is that we pay much more out of pocket for drugs. I think health insurance should be a not-for-profit business or single-payer.
