'Meet the Candidates' event tonight in Merrick

Two Merrick civic associations will host a “Meet the candidates” forum at 7 p.m. at the Merrick Park Golf Course Clubhouse.
The North & Central Merrick Community Association and South Merrick Community Civic Association will host the forum, North & Central president Claudia Borecky said in a statement.
Speakers are slated to include Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-Mineola) and challengers Francis Becker and Frank Scaturro; Assemb. David McDonough (R-Merrick) and challenger John Brooks; Assembly candidate Elton McCabe; state Sen. Charles Fuschillo (R-Merrick) and challenger Carol Gordon; and judicial candidates.
This is the fourth annual candidate night hosted by the civic associations. The clubhouse is located at 2550A Clubhouse Rd. in Merrick.
